Music as Culture

Music is a culture: a way of being together. Learning how to prepare and offer a piece of music is learning how to be with others in a profoundly sacred way. Musical skills translate to our lives and make us better listeners, deeper thinkers, and able to experience the here-and-now. Each one of us is drawn to certain songs, rhythms, and styles; what I teach is not one aesthetic or tradition, but how to follow your heart and body to the music you are meant to channel. I work primarily with adults and motivated teens who want to take their musical development seriously—whether for personal fulfillment or professional goals.
